Amazing facilities to develop your AHP career

Our Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) are central to delivering high-quality clinical pathways, patient safety and patient experience at our Trust.

We employ AHPs across eight dynamic specialties and offer both rotational and static posts within our departments.

We also offer a range of AHP apprenticeships from the level 3 in house senior healthcare support worker apprenticeship with AHP modules to degree level SLT, Podiatry, OT and Physiotherapy apprenticeships.

We have amazing facilities and are a centre of excellence for neuro, stroke, and maternity, and we also provide elective and emergency care.

Working as an AHP’s with us you will provide essential support for not only direct patient care but also rehabilitation, treatment, diagnostics and health improvement interventions.

"Shadowing stint led to the career I love"

I am a Radiographer in the X-ray department. Radiography was the career path I chose because when I was studying I had an interest in anatomy as well as technology.

I called King George's Hospital to shadow at the Radiology X-ray department and spoke to the team which really helped me decide that being a Radiographer was the right career choice for me.

I enjoy meeting lots of new people and I also like to take a hands-on approach to helping those in need.

There is a national shortage of diagnostic radiographers so once you qualify you are pretty much guaranteed a job.

I have worked at King George's for three years and have had lots of support and opportunities, like completing additional courses to learn more about the profession and progress in my career.

"Being here like having massive second family"

I am a physiotherapist and my job is to help patients improve their mobility and regain their independence after an injury or operation, or as a result of ageing or a disability.

What I like working about here is the comradery with the team. Everybody is so positive which makes for a great working environment.

I feel inspired every day by my patients, and my colleagues in my team around me. The goal is always about helping people, and problem solving. When I help someone to feel better or more confident in managing their symptoms, and they say “thank you” it is such a great feeling.

The NHS is one of the largest employers in the world. You get to meet so many people it is like having a massive second family!

State of the art facilities in new diagnostic centre

In April 2024 we opened our new community diagnostic centres (CDC) in Barking.

The one-stop shop offers a range of diagnostic checks, scans and tests for patients.

Following a GP referral, patients can get their symptoms checked and receive a potentially life-saving diagnosis for a range of conditions such as cancer, heart and lung disease more quickly.
